Chocolate Easter Egg Nest Cakes

Sunday, April 13, 2014

Hello lovelies <3
Today I thought I'd post how I make my favourite treat that I like to make during the Easter season, even though EVERYONE reading this probably knows how to anyway, but if you don't carry on reading.

What you'll need:

  • 1 large bar of chocolate
  • Two packs of Shredded Wheat or Corn Flakes is preferred
  • Mini Eggs - Cadbury/ Milky Bar/ Smarties
  • Cake cases
  • Two bowls

What to do:
  • Break up the chocolate so it's easier to melt, either in the micro-wave or by using two bowls, with one bowl filled with hot water then a bowl resting on top which has the broken up pieces of chocolate in it. The chocolate will take at least 5-10 minutes to felt.
  • Once the chocolate is melted, take the bowl with chocolate in  off the other bowl full of water, and place on the worktop/table.
  • Start to pour some of the shredded wheat in the bowl of melted chocolate, don't pour it in all at once as you want the cereal to be covered in chocolate but you don't want the chocolate soaked up.
  • Once the mixture is perfect, start to scoop out enough mixture for each of the cake cases.
  • Then place your chosen chocolate eggs on top of the nests you have created.
  • Once you have finished putting the eggs on the nests, place the cakes in the fridge or a cooler place and wait for them harden. This will take at least 1 hour.
  • Finally, once the chocolate has harden get them out of the fridge and enjoy your nest cakes.

THE FINAL RESULTS

I hope you liked this blog post, if you want to know how to make any other sweet/treats comment below and I will make a blog post ASAP.
